Paris began performing professionally at five years old, starting as a model for Neiman Marcus and American Girl Magazine, and as a child actress in everything from soap operas to MTV. Her childhood included roles on Guiding Light, All My Children, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, and Nickelodeon's iCarly, as well as numerous Off-Broadway productions, including King Lear with Kevin Kline at The Public Theater.
Weekdays meant drives to Manhattan for auditions; spring meant Los Angeles for pilot season. Paris knew she was in love with performing from the start. In middle school, she taught herself guitar. By high school, songwriting had become the part of the process she loved most.
Paris entered SUNY Purchase as an acting major, but immediately switched gears and auditioned for the Music Conservatory after seeing students on campus writing songs for homework. She graduated as a Studio Composition major with confidence, ambition, a body of original work, and no particularly clear plan for what came next.
After college, she nannied in the Hamptons, playing a gig or two a month to make sure she didn't forget how to play guitar, while picking up freelance licensing work. Then, a submission produced with one of her former professors was unexpectedly selected for a Dawn Dish Soap campaign, where Paris sang “Lean on Me.” The commercial's success gave her the guts (and the opportunity) to leave nannying behind and pursue music full-time.
Since then, Paris has built a full-time career as a musician on Long Island, performing everywhere from vineyards and weddings to restaurants, bars (and even Citi Field for the New York Mets!)
She has performed at The Paramount and the Great South Bay Music Festival, headlined the Montauk Music Festival for over a decade, and opened for Jon Herrington of Steely Dan and Katrina of Katrina & The Waves. She is a four-time winner of Dan's Papers' Best of the Best and Bethpage's Best of Long Island, and has become a renouned fixture in the Long Island music community.
Of all the things Paris is grateful her career has brought her, the most important is Bob — the manager who booked her at a “dive” bar on the South Shore. Four years later, he became her husband and encouraged Paris to put more energy into her original music, ultimately leading to two studio albums and her band, Paris Ray & The Crush.
Paris is living the life of her dreams: spending time in the studio, paying her bills as a full-time musician, singing across the island, and Oversharing on the Internet (iykyk). Her music has now garnered more than 100,000 streams across streaming platforms, and Paris Ray & The Crush has become an increasingly recognizable part of the local music scene.
Most recently, Paris and Bob became the owners of The Cortland, a bar in Bay Shore that they just happened to have their first kiss in.
She continues to write, love, perform, and show up every day. Paris is endlessly grateful to the community that supported and believed in her enough to make music her reality, and is even more excited for the next chapter (whatever it may be!)
